Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Ping Habits handles personal data when you use the Ping Habits iOS app (the "App") and website at https://www.pinghabits.com (the "Site").

1. Who we are

Ping Habits is developed by an independent developer based in Spain. For privacy questions, contact hi@pinghabits.com.

2. Privacy summary

The App is designed to work without an account and without cloud sync for habit data. Habit data stays on your iPhone unless you choose to export it yourself. We do not use advertising trackers.

3. Data processed by the App

Habit names, reminders, progress logs, notes, and app settings are stored locally on your device using Apple system storage. We do not receive this data and cannot access it remotely.

4. Notifications

If you allow notifications, reminder notifications are created and delivered locally on your device. We do not operate a push notification server for habit reminders.

5. Subscriptions and payments

If you purchase Ping Habits Pro, payment is handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

The App uses RevenueCat to validate subscription entitlement status. RevenueCat may process technical identifiers and subscription status, but not your habit content. See: RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

6. Website data (no cookies, no analytics)

The Site does not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising. We do not run analytics scripts.

Like most websites, the hosting provider may temporarily process basic server logs (such as IP address, request path, user agent, and timestamp) to keep the service secure and operational.

7. Legal bases under GDPR

Where GDPR applies, processing is based on: (a) performance of a contract to provide App and Site functionality, (b) legitimate interests for security and abuse prevention, and (c) legal obligations (for example, accounting or tax records related to transactions handled by platform providers).

8. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Depending on your usage, data may be processed by service providers needed to operate the product, such as Apple (billing), RevenueCat (subscription status), hosting providers (Site delivery), and email providers (support messages).

9. Data retention

App habit data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the App. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and any legal obligations.

10. Your rights

If GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, or request portability of personal data we control. Because most App data is stored only on your device, these rights may be limited to data you share with us directly (for example by email).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, including the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD).

11. Children's privacy

The App and Site are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
